Every two years, the robotics world meets at the Automatica Expo in Munich/Germany. BEC paticipated this year with exhibits at two booths. In addition to the two research projects RosyLerNT (robotic strength training) and RobExReha (robotics training for rehabilitation), also the new developed BEC Coaster was presented for the first time in Europe.
In cooperation with the leasing company JobRad, BEC GmbH has been offering its employees the opportunity to lease a bike or E-bike of their choice for 36 months. After this period, the employee has the option to buy the bike on favorable terms or to lease a new model. The leasing rates are settled directly via the monthly salary. Thanks to the preferential taxation, employees can save about 30 percent compared to a direct purchase.
On 18 April 2018 we presented our company for the first time at TIC Career Day at the Reutlingen University. The students were impressed by our unusual product portfolio and the possibilities of human-robot collaboration. To interested and committed students from the fields of mechanical engineering, medical technology, computer science, software engineering or comparable engineering sciences we offer the possibility to do a practical semester or thesis.
Neutron Therapeutics / Danvers, Massachusetts / USA
BEC supplies the patient positioning system with Siemens CT integration to Neutron Therapeutics in Helsinki. Neutron Therapeutics works on bringing Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) out of the realm of medical research and transform it into a widely available first-line cancer therapy. (BNCT) is a unique type of radiation therapy that enables treating locally invasive malignant tumors such as primary brain tumors and recurrent head and neck cancer.
In the RobExReha project, a robot-based rehabilitation system is developed for the precise diagnosis of existing abilities and the treatment of the upper extremities. The partial or complete paralysis of the arm after stroke severely restricts those concerned to everyday life and work.
What do an amusement park, a specialist hospital, and a bobsled training center have in common? For all of them, modern robots installed by BEC are an integral part of their operations. The dynamic robotics specialist from Southern Germany operates around the globe.
Regular physical training offers great potential in the prevention and therapy of degenerative diseases. It makes a decisive contribution to a healthy and self-determined life. Assistance systems, which motivate suitable for training and enable a safe, autonomous training, can provide meaningful support.
BEC GmbH ... has been our new company since August 15th 2017. We are looking forward to it, as in the 14 years that we have been with Buck Engineering & Consulting GmbH at our location in the Gartenstr. 11, 72764 Reutlingen, Germany there have been so many short forms for our company name – the shortest one is our new company name. ....
The jury of the VR Innovation Prize awarded BEC with the main prize 2017 for the development of a platform that allows the active control of robots by human movements.

In cooperation with the market research institute Statista the German business magazine Focus established the 500 independent companies headquartered in Germany, which generated the largest increase in sales between 2012 and 2015. ....
Flexible experiment control box for research and development! Working on experiments has never been that flexible and easy! Configurate the control system in the classroom, Test the setup with the peripheral hardware, Transport the becbox to the experiment, Connect the becbox via bus to the robot control, Interact the system with mobile devices.
On the ITEC from 28. - 30. April 2016 is has been the first time, that visitors of a show were actually able to test the BEC robotic motion simulator live. BEC offered to a selected group of training and simulation specialists to test the helicopter simulator on the show. We were honestly impressed by the number of visitors and the encouraging feedback on the simulator flight experience.
San Francisco / USA - Through development of the floor-mounted examove 7F, BEC and KUKA added the last piece to a modular system for robotic patient positioning that can easily be customized for different areas of application. examove 7F can easily be installed in new and existing treatment rooms without requiring any structural alterations.....
Core of the approach is a robot-controlled patient support, allowing to individually compensated tumor motion through the corresponding counter-movement of the table. Thus, the target volume can be reduced and set as close as possible around the tumor. ...
The aim of the research project "Horus" is to develop an economic machining solution for medium and large workpieces by cooperating robots. The project starts with studies of the static and dynamic behavior depending on the robot position. The resulting stability maps are used to determine the limits of the processing ability. ...
An innovative system for accurate patient positioning had already received attention at its market launch in 2014. Now the first of these systems has been commissioned at MedAustron, an Austrian Center for Ion Beam Therapy, and will there be used clinically for the first time. Cancer patients can be positioned better than ever before and will thus be able to receive pin-point accuracy radiation treatments....
